MY LITERARY HERO ARNOLD BENNETT;
he wrote prolifically in the early 20th century writing both short stories and 34 novels amongst other work. Alright, I admit that the only thing we have in common is that we are both from Stoke-on-Trent. However, I also desire to become a prolific writer and very much like Arnold Bennett, and when you consider my creation of characters in The Forgotten Children they are certainly similar to his characters, being earthy and straight-talking, no-nonsense people, just like the character's in Anna of the Five Towns or The Old Wives Tales. To mention two of his classic novels.

A new idea I have had for a classic-style novel comes from my experiences of teaching special needs children and reading the Harry Potter books with my son Zac. I thought why are there no special needs children in that type of story are there no young wizards or witches with Dyslexia, ADHD, ADD, ODD, Autism, or Asperger's or a child in a wheelchair? No there is not!
Well in my latest idea for a children's novel, there will be. May I introduce you to:- Willie Reid and The True King?
Crowsfoot Acadamy is a magical special school for young witches and wizards. The school is situated in Cornwall on Bodmin moor. The students who attend this school were not able to go to Hogwarts because of their special needs, such as learning difficulties or physical impairments. This story is about young students who want to aspire to great things in the world of magic. But their lack of confidence and their disabilities have halted them so far. However, great things are achievable at Crowsfoot Academy.
